Grooving through the decades

Also on Saturday night August 29 the Kearny-Belleville Elks #1050 is holding a night of Musical Bingo and Cheesesteaks all while “Grooving through the Decades” with music from the greatest hits of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Enjoy delicious cheesesteaks, a sing-a-long, bingo and prizes. The fun starts at 7:00pm at 601 Elm Street in Kearny. You MUST register for this event. Tickets are just $25 per person. Local artists night

The Borough of East Newark will be hosting a “Local Artists Night” on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the Amphitheater in East Newark Riverfront Park in East Newark at 7:00pm. Local artists from around the area will perform. So bring your blankets and lawn chairs and snacks and enjoy a night of music and entertainment.

Paint & Sip summer night out

If you are feeling creative this weekend then on Saturday, August 29 you can head on over to Metro Media Institute in Kearny at 167 Elm Street. This new business in town is holding a night of painting and having fun with friends. The event takes place between 7-9 pm and is a BYOB event as well. Farmer’s Market’s in Kearny 

Assemblyman Jerry Walker and his Team Walker will be holding a farmers market on Saturday morning, August 29, 2026 at the American Revolution Bicentennial Park next to Town Hall in Kearny. The market starts at 10:00 am. This is complimentary produce for Kearny residents and is a first come first served basis. And don’t forget EVERY Monday the Kearny Farmer’s Market is at Memorial Park in Kearny across from Walgreen’s!

One Love Music Fest

If you love music you won’t want to miss this outdoor Caribbean music festival on Saturday and Sunday August 29 and 30. The event starts around 11:00 am and is located in Military Park (51 Park Place, Newark). Bring your friends and expect some high-energy live performances with top DJ’s playing reggae, soca, dancehall and konpa. There will be a community health and wellness hub along with food, dancing and social gathering spaces. Don’t miss the fun!

Racing this Weekend at the Meadowlands

The Meadowlands Racetrack is so close and so much fun! This Saturday, August 29, 2026 they will be having a BBQ Extravaganza.
