Looking for something to do this weekend? This Saturday, June 27 all are invited to the 2026 Kearny Pride Flag Raising. This annual LGBTQ+ Pride month celebration will be held at the Kearny Town Hall American Revolutionary Park at 11:00 a.m. Join local officials, members of the LGBTQ+ community and their family and friends in celebrating Pride month. In the past the event has included family-friendly activities and access to local community services.

After the Flag raising you can head on over to Shawn’s Crazy Saloon in North Arlington for a Dead Head Brunch featuring the Grateful Dead Tribute band Ice Petal Flowers. The fun begins at 2:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. It’s best to call ahead to see if tickets are still available. Good food, friends and live entertainment is at Shawn’s Crazy Saloon. Brew at the Zoo is back at Turtle Back Zoo, on Northfield Avenue, in West Orange. This event is scheduled for this Saturday, June 27, 2026. This 13th annual event is an adults only event (21 and older and ID required). It features one hour private sessions previewing some of the best craft beers around and complimentary hor d’oeuvres. You’ll be able to experience up-close encounters with some of the animal residents at the zoo. If you love flea markets take a trip out to Montclair Flea in Lackawanna Station Plaza in Montclair, NJ. This indoor flea market is open all weekend long from 11:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The market has unique items, food trucks, jewelry, clothing, home goods and more. The address is 1 Lackawanna Plaza, Montclair and is just a short 15 minute drive from Kearny.

There is a lot going on this Sunday, June 28 starting off with Rutherford’s annual Independence Day fireworks display. The celebration will take place at Memorial Park, 2 Darwin Avenue in Rutherford. The gates open at 5:00 p.m. with the fireworks to begin around 9:30p.m. Admission is free and has a full night of activities planned including food trucks, bounce houses, a beer garden, and DJ & music beginning at 5:00p.m. Come out and join in the celebration of our nation’s founding.
Another event on Sunday, June 28 that you don’t want to miss is Mercadito at Curiosity by Nest on Midland Avenue in Kearny. Mercadito, translated as little market, is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and last until 6:00 p.m. A dozen different merchants will be there with unique products for sale including fragrances, beaded jewelry, lux candles, special kid’s creations, party decorations, arts and plants. Calling all Billy Joel Fans! This Sunday evening June 28, 2026 East Newark Riverfront Park will host a family-friendly musical event tribute to singer songwriter Billy Joel. The Bronx native grammy award winning singer songwriter Billy Joel hits are endless. The tribute band We May Be Right will be playing Billy Joel songs we grew up with. The fun begins at 7:00 p.m. and the park is located at 1 Central Ave., East Newark. This free outdoor concert is part of East Newark’s Summer Concert Series.

Another summer concert not to be missed is Monday, June 29 at Veterans Field in Kearny. As part of the Kearny Recreation Department’s Summer Concert in the Park series the band Mushmouth! This is a FREE outdoor concert beginning at 7:00 p.m. Remember to bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the music. Mushmouth brings decades of crowd-pleasing hits from the 70’s to today. Live music, good vibes, and lot’s of community fun!
