This past Wednesday, June 17, 2026 Kearny celebrated its 35th annual Senior Picnic at Riverbank Park at the Doyle Pavilion area on Passaic Avenue.
From 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Mayor Carol Jean Doyle and members of the Town Council mingled with the crowd, sharing stories and laughter. The annual event, in its 35th year in Kearny, welcomed residents aged 55 and older for a completely free afternoon of food, music and activities.
Members of the Kearny Police and Fire departments traded their emergency gear for aprons, flipping burgers and joining in on the fun.
