Press Release
Kearny’s Doggie Halloween PAWrade and Festival is scheduled for this Saturday, October 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This annual Kearny event will take place at Arlington Depot Park in Kearny right off Midland Avenue, between Elm and Forest Streets.
All costume-clad pooches, families and dog lovers of all ages will be heading over to the park for all the fun. This popular Kearny event is sponsored by the Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone (KUEZ), K-9 Corner/Bone Appetit Spa and Dog Barkery and The Kearny Dog Walker.
The Doggie Halloween Costume Contest headlines the PAWrade festival. Once again, sign up is only in person at the park the day-of the event from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. You MUST have proof of license registration from the town you reside in, and up to date rabies vaccine.
For the first time the Kearny Health Department will be at the PAWrade for day-of dog licensing. That means if you are a Kearny resident and do not have your dog license, you’ll be able to get your license the day of the PAWrade and join the Costume Contest!
Cost is $21 for non-spayed or neutered and $18 for spayed or neutered. The late fee of $25 for registering your dog after March 31 will be waived the day of the event! Cash, check or money orders ONLY.
At the event there will be lots to do for dog-lovers and families alike, even if your pup is not part of the costume contest! And everyone is invited to participate in the PAWrade Parade.
No sign up needed for the PAWrade Parade! The PAWrade event will also once again spotlight some adorable pups looking for forever homes. Other happenings include lots of vendors, doggie-friendly booths and activities, photo opportunities, and live entertainment.
