There will be a Tricky Tray & Dinner benefiting Troop and Pack 305 on Saturday, June 13. This benefit dinner and tricky tray is to support Unit 305’s Pack and Troop which is a non-profit organization that is chartered by St. Stephens R.C.C. and registered with Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America). Catering for this event will be provided by Mr. Nino’s III Brick Oven Trattoria and the cost to attend the event is $45.00 per person. Ticket includes admission, buffet dinner, dessert, soft drinks, coffee & tea, and one sheet of tickets – vegetarian meal available upon request. BYOB and adults only. There are 300 tickets available for this event so hurry to get your tickets. Tickets can be purchased by stopping by St Stephens R.C.C. in Hedges Hall Friday 7pm-8pm. Kearny-Belleville Elks Lodge #1050 is inviting everyone on Saturday the 13th to join them as they celebrate Flag Day. They will be honoring our nation’s flag as well as respectfully retiring worn and unserviceable American Flags in accordance with long standing patriotic traditions. The time is 7:00 PM and the celebration will be held at VFW Post #1302 at 300 Belgrove Drive in Kearny.
Also on Saturday June 13, in nearby North Arlington, the “Oldies In The Park” Summer Saturday Mornings concerts have their first event. Sponsored by North Arlington Mayor and Council the concerts are free to the public. Journey back to the good old days of music, hosted by Tom Catucci. The concert runs from 9:30am-11:00am and additional dates are planned throughout the summer. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy. Weather permitting.
There will be a weekend World Cup watch party, June 13 and June 14, at VFW 1302 at 300 Belgrove Drive in Kearny. The matches will be shown throughout the weekend and the canteen will be open. Why not volunteer for a good cause this weekend? The Kearny Food Pantry Network needs help moving boxes of food from the monthly delivery truck into the food pantry. If you are available for 30-60 minutes this Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 am just stop by and lend them a hand. The pantry is located at 633 Kearny Ave., Kearny (corner of Laurel and Kearny Ave.). No need to call ahead. Just come on by.
