Lincoln Middle School in Kearny will hold its Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, Sept. 15, giving parents and guardians an opportunity to meet school staff, visit classrooms and follow their child’s school-day schedule.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with families entering the school through 121 Beech Street.
The evening will formally begin with a presentation by James Hempel, the school principal, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. School officials are asking families to be seated for the presentation by the 6:30 p.m. start time.
Following the presentation, parents and guardians will follow their child’s “A Day” schedule, moving from classroom to classroom for abbreviated 10-minute periods.
The classroom schedule begins at 7 p.m. and will run as follows:
- Period 1: 7–7:10 p.m.
- Period 2: 7:15–7:25 p.m.
- Period 4: 7:30–7:40 p.m.
- Period 6: 7:45–7:55 p.m.
- Period 8: 8–8:10 p.m.
The schedule provides five minutes between each period for parents and guardians to move to their next classroom.
Lincoln Middle School will also hold a Club Fair in the gymnasium during Back-to-School Night. Families can learn about the school’s extracurricular activities and opportunities available for students to participate in clubs and other programs.
Back-to-School Night is scheduled to conclude following the final classroom period at approximately 8:10 p.m.
