Kearny launches community survey to shape town branding

By Jaimie Julia Winters

The Town of Kearny, in partnership with the Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone (KUEZ), is asking residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to weigh in on a new effort to define how the town presents itself to the public.

Officials say the survey is part of a broader initiative to create a clear, consistent brand identity for Kearny — one that highlights its character, supports local businesses, and helps attract visitors and investment.

“Kearny is a community with a rich history and a strong sense of pride,” Mayor Carol Jean Doyle said in a statement. “This initiative is about bringing our community’s voice to the forefront and ensuring that how we present ourselves reflects who we truly are.”

The branding effort will examine elements such as Kearny’s culture, business community, public spaces, and overall experience, with the goal of developing cohesive messaging and visuals for use in marketing, events, and economic development.

Town officials emphasized that the project will not replace Kearny’s official seal, which will remain unchanged. Instead, the branding initiative is intended to complement existing symbols with modern promotional materials.

The survey, which takes about five to 10 minutes to complete, invites participants to share their perspectives and ideas for the town’s future. Responses will help guide the development of the new brand identity.

Participants who complete the survey by May 15 will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card.

The project is funded through the UEZ and is part of its Five-Year Zone Development Plan, which focuses on economic growth, business development, and community revitalization.
