Looking for something to do this weekend? From charity softball and a cheerleading car wash to live music, family activities, and even life-sized dinosaurs, there’s no shortage of events happening in and around Kearny. Here are some of the highlights you won’t want to miss.
Kearny High School Cheerleading car wash
This Saturday, August 15 the KHS Cheerleading squad will be hosting a fundraising car wash. This event will take place in the VFW Parking Lot located at 300 Belgrove Drive in Kearny between the hours of 9am-1pm. Come out and support the cheerleaders and get a clean car! The cost of this event is just $10 and proceeds from the event will go to support the KHS cheerleaders for their upcoming season expenses and camps.
Under the Summer Sun!
When you are out and about this Saturday, August 15, take a few minutes to stop by Curiosity by Nest at 161 Midland Ave., in Kearny for a little shopping and refreshments. And while you are there by sure to try some delicious fresh-squeezed lemonade from 7-year old Camilla! Support this young entrepreneur who is trying to spread joy one cup at a time. Camilla has multiple flavors and all at an unbeatable price.
Charity Softball on Sunday
What better way to enjoy a Sunday morning than a Charity Softball game at Veterans Memorial Field in Kearny. This first ever co-ed tournament will start at 8:30 am and all players will receive a wristband for food. There will be prizes, food and fun for all. Whether you are playing or cheering on your favorite players this is the event you don’t want to miss this weekend! The event is hosted by VFW Post 1302 in Kearny.
Spanish Pavilion hosts La Familia Live
Also on Saturday night August 15 the Spanish Pavillion in Harrison for a night of the best in Latin, Salsa, and Party Classics featuring “La Familia” live on the Patio. All the fun starts at 7pm and runs through 11pm. The Patio at he Spanish Pavilion is located at 31 Harrison Ave., in Harrison. 1/2 price tapas available from 11am-5pm so come early and stay late and enjoy great music, delicious food, and fantastic drinks! Fun at the Williams Center
I’m not sure if tickets are still available, but if you are interested in a fun time call the Williams Center today. On Saturday, August 15 they will be hosting a Bingo Loco Name That Song event with 90’s music, dance offs, lip sync battles, and confetti showers with crazy prizes! Doors open at 9pm with the show starting at 10pm. The first show has been sold out, but maybe you can get tickets for the second show. Call NOW!
Jurassic Quest at Harmon Meadows
Also on Saturday, August 15, 2026 The Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadows 355 Plaza Drive in Secaucus has Jurassic Quest! This is a fun event for all ages! This is the ultimate family adventure. Walk among life-sized, moving dinosaurs including the mighty T- rex. The kids can dig for fossils and meet baby dinosaurs. Looking for some country fun? Check out Shawn’s Crazy Saloon this Saturday, August 15 for Saturday Night Line Dancing!
