Looking for something to do this week? From a Steely Dan tribute concert and the return of the Kearny Farmers Market to free summer concerts, Zumba, cultural celebrations and World Cup Final watch parties, there’s no shortage of activities for residents of Kearny and the surrounding communities. Here’s a look at some of the top events happening from July 19 through July 23.
Soccer final this Sunday at 3:00pm
Of course the big event this weekend is the World Cup Soccer final between Argentina and Spain. The match begins at 3:00 pm. Secure your spot to watch the game at the many watch parties throughout the area. If you want to take a short ride to Montclair there is a free outdoor party beginning at 1:00PM at Wellmont Arts Plaza. The game will be shown on a giant LED video wall alongside a D.J. There will be a designated kids area and a full bar for the adults.
The Spanish Pavilion watch party
This Sunday celebrate the World Cup Final at Patio Fest at The Spanish Pavilion in Harrison, NJ. Festivities start at 1:30 PM with indoor TV’s, music, and all the great food and drinks you could ever ask for. What a great way to enjoy the game! Free Zumba class
If you want to get your dance exercise in before the World Cup final at 3:00 pm why not take a free Zumba class with Ritmo Latino Dance Studio. The class will be conducted by Jhoana from Ritmo Latino and it will take place at Curiosity by Nest at 161 Midland Avenue in Kearny. Class is from 12-1pm, but you must RSVP Curiositybynest.com
Kearny’s farmers market is back!
The Kearny Farmers Market is back! Let’s shop local and eat fresh. The opening of the season’s first farmers market is scheduled for Monday, July 20 and will continue through to October 26, 2026. So stop by any Monday between 11 Am and 4 PM for delicious fresh produce. SNAP benefits, WIC benefits and Senior benefit vouchers are accepted. For more info www.kearnynj.org
Free outdoor summer concert
On Monday, July 20 at 5:30 PM the Kearny Recreation Department proudly presents “A Continental Summer featuring Jonathan Olegario.” “Jonathan Olegario brings timeless music to the stage in four languages. He blends bossa nova, salsa, and American swing which is a guaranteed great time for a summer evening. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to Town Hall Park in Kearny and get set for live music, energy, and a great family fun summer event. Concert at Riverside Park
Bergen County Department of Parks, in partnership with the Borough of North Arlington, presents the third in their series of Free Summer Concerts in the Park on Tuesday, July 21 with Suit & Mai Tai playing Yacht Rock. The stage is at Riverside County Park in North Arlington. The concert starts at 7:00 PM so bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a great outdoor summer night of great music!
Columbian flag-raising ceremony
On Wednesday, July 22 at 6:30 PM join the Town of Kearny along with your neighbors and friends to the American Revolutionary Park on the side of Keary’s Town Hall for the Columbian Flag Raising Ceremony for a celebration of Columbia’s Independence and rich cultural heritage.
