Line Dancing Night of Fun at Shawn’s Crazy Saloon
This Saturday, August 8 come on down to Shawn’s Crazy Saloon for a night of Line Dancing with Kierstyn Moran. Shawn’s Crazy Saloon is a great hangout for fun, friends and drinks. Spanish Pavilion hosts Big Bruce & the Messengers
Also on Saturday night August 8 swing on by to the Spanish Pavillion in Harrison for a night of high-energy Motown, R&B and classic soul. Big Bruce & the Messengers (Gianya Turner, Milton Miles and Mia Cox) will have you on your feet all night long with their classic sounds and vocals. Stop by, have dinner and some drinks and enjoy! FCCP hosts Back-To-School Resource Day
On Saturday, August 8 from 1:00 pm-4:00pm the FCCP will be hosting their 4th annual Back-to-School Community Resource Day at the American Legion Post 99. This annual event is a family day for fun, free school uniforms, information and community. This event is designed to connect families with valuable resources as they prepare to go back to school this year. Some of the things you should expect are free school supplies (while they last), Community resource tables, youth & family support services, educational resources, health & wellness information and family friendly activities. Elton John Tribute concert at Riverside Park
The Bergen County Department of Parks continues with their Music in the Parks series of outdoor concerts. This Tuesday, August 11 there will be a Here’s Elton Tribute to the music of Elton John. In Partnership with the Borough of North Arlington this event starts at 7:00PM and is at The Stage at Riverside County Park in North Arlington. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a night of a magical Elton John Tribute!
Town of Kearny Backpack Give-a-Way
On Wednesday, August 4 the Town of Kearny will have a Backpack Giveaway at the Kearny Town Hall beginning at 5:30pm. Children must be present to receive a backpack. While supplies last.
Decorative Arts Workshop at Liberty Family Success Center
On Tuesdays throughout the month of Liberty Family Success Center will hold creative workshops with Ms. Julian. This workshop is for ages 7-18 where you will learn decorative painting techniques while designing colorful items, including a banana, tumbler, photo frame and flower vase. The times for these events are 3:00pm-4:00pm. Movies for all ages this weekend at AMC
If you want to cool off during this hot weather there is nothing better than a day at the movies! AMC in Clifton has a great line-up of both movies for adults and children. Some of the great shows this weekend are The Odyssey (Rated R). Although the run time on this move is 2 hr 52 minutes the movie has received rave reviews from critics. And if you want a family fun movie for kids of all ages showing this weekend is Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, and Moana. AMC theaters are located in Clifton Commons in Clifton, NJ. Just a short drive from Kearny.
